The history of Pilates

Pilates is a course that soothes the muscles of the whole body and improves the control of the human torso. Its origins date back to the concentration camps in the 1914 war.

Pilates is a unique and magical combination of motor system therapy for more than 80 years, named after its founder (Joseph). H.pilates) Mr. Joseph Pilates.

Mr. Pilates was born in Germany in 1880. He has been weak and sick since childhood. Later, he was determined to strengthen his body and learn to study a variety of exercise therapy. At the age of 14, his physique was strong enough to be a model in anatomical pictures! Later, he continued to gradually form systematic exercise therapy through practice.

In 1912, 32-year-old Joseph Pilates moved to the UK During World War I, Pilates used the unique and effective exercise therapy of Pilates to help a large number of prisoners recover, and recently attracted public attention.

In 1926, Pilates, 46, immigrated to New York, USA and met his nurse's fiancée Clara on a boat heading to the United States; on Eighth Avenue, New York, the Pilates couple set up Pilates Studio (The Pilates studio, specializing in providing targeted exercise therapy training for famous dancers, actors and athletes. Since its significant effect has become famous in the United States, it has gradually gained recognition and recognition from all countries and all walks of life around the world.

Until around 1960, Mr. Pilates, 80, still managed the studio with his wife by teaching himself. Today, the studio is still on the original site by his main student, Ms. Romana Kryzanowska!

In 1967, Mr. Pilates passed away at the age of 87.

"The first requirement of happiness is physical health. Our understanding of physical health is to achieve and maintain the unity of the body with a sound mind, abundant natural movement ability, and complete the many tasks in daily life happily and calmly." Joseph Pilates wrote the above passage in 1945, which also fully demonstrates the true meaning of Pilates exercise.

Now, Pilates has evolved into a noun, referring to all courses that use Joseph Pilates movements for exercise. The course can be a group fitness course or a private training course offered by a coach to correct a special injury, muscle imbalance or other physical problems. Pilates group fitness courses are designed for people working in the office. They have imbalanced muscle development due to long-term working at the desk and computer. This course is mainly for muscle training in abdominal muscles, hip muscle groups, shoulders, back and other parts. Regular Pilates exercises can correct body posture, relax waist and neck, solve shoulder problems, and tighten loose muscles in arms and abdomen. Now many professional athletes also use Pilates exercises to avoid sports injuries.
