How to correct movement errors during exercise training? Today I will introduce RNT reactionary neuromuscular training method
When our movements are wrong, the RNT method is not to tell the body not to do anything, but to force the brain and nervous system to recognize new movement patterns in a faster and more effective way through external resistance.
Look at an example first. Some people will volute their knees when performing squats, so they may hear a coach or trainer telling you that the knees should not be volute. But this person may be in a state of volute knees for a long time, and the body's perception system may be familiar with this movement pattern (Movement Pattern), becomes muscle memory.
So! It may not be useful to just remind him at this time!
The RNT method is to add an elastic band to the knee to generate an introverted force. While maintaining the correct posture, the abducted muscle group will be driven to resist the introverted force, forcing the body's ontology perception system to change the original action mode and then learn a new mode. As the ontology perception system increases in the awareness of movement, the added resistance will gradually decrease.
External resistance is not intended to achieve the effect of intensive training, but as a reaction to improve the balance or correcting of the quality of the action mode.
What is the introduction of RNT?
RNT is a correction movement used to promote reactions or reflexes, which naturally increases its flexibility and stability.
The method is to exaggerate the original error by applying resistance, so that the body's perception can more clearly know the degree of the error. With the body's balance and correcting reaction, clear the originally wrong action mode (Faulty Movement Pattern, some people call this method Reverse Psychology.
Go back to the above example, if the knees will be inverted when performing squats, RNT is to add resistance to make the inverted condition more obvious. At this time, the body must resist this resistance to achieve a suitable posture and build the required muscle groups to correct the knee inverted condition.
In addition to squats, if the knees will be inverted, if they will be inverted, they can also be corrected through RNT
