Fitness for beginners: Don’t rely on fixed equipment!
For beginners who are just entering the gym, it is very important to build the correct fitness concept! Wrong concepts will only guide you to get deeper and deeper, and eventually lose confidence!
Among them, many fitness beginners fall into the trap of fixed equipment!
Note:
Fixed equipment : refers specifically to training equipment with support such as fixed tracks, chair cushions, back cushions
Liberty weight training: dumbbells, barbells, etc. training equipment without fixed tracks
No matter what the comparison is, free weight is better than fixed equipment!
I. Increase in muscle mass and strength
2. Movement control (that is, the ability to participate in posture muscles during movement)
I. Body integration ability (coordination ability of the body's muscles)
The fixed equipment is often regarded as the beginning of a rookie's weight training! Sitting push, Smith bench press, squats, etc. These seem to be easier to master than barbell dumbbells
There is not a good thing for long-term development!
Although it is easy to get started, fixed equipment will never allow you to learn the correct bench press movement. The fixed track does not conform to the movement trajectory of human body, and you are led by the nose by the instrument! This is not the natural movement of our human body! Although there will be muscle or strength growth in the short term, it cannot last long!
And the muscle strength obtained on fixed equipment for a long time is difficult to transfer to free weights.
Many people think this way: barbell bench press is not easy to learn, so use Smith bench press to learn first, and use Smith squats to learn barbell squats first! I thought that fixed equipment has learned! Will be better with free weight squats?
In fact, it is a big mistake!
Use Smith machine squats For example: the barbell is installed on a fixed track, so you don’t need to spend too much effort to stabilize the barbell. You don’t need to spend too much time learning how to carry the barbell, control the center, and stabilize the core!
And when you change to free weights, you will become vulnerable!
I have seen many Smith masters in the gym, but when they change to free weights, the movements become messy! The movements are inconsistent and shaking.
On the contrary! People who can be good at free weights will do very beautifully!
Fixed equipment also has its benefits, but never let them become your dominant!
I don’t want to practice fixed equipment well and everything is OK!
For novices, learn free weight training Technology is very important! Start with basic breathing and core stability training! Then learn basic movement patterns (push, pull, squat, hip-dominated, rotate, and walk with weight) start with light weight with empty hands! Focus on the control of movement (body posture, center of gravity, movement trajectory), improve the coordination between muscles, and nerve sensitivity!
Maybe it is difficult to learn at the beginning, but it can help you develop in the long run. As long as you learn these basic movement patterns, future training will not be a problem!! Finally, the same sentence! Article content is just a suggestion and reminder, and there is no way to teach you to perform movements! Finding a reliable coach will help you avoid many detours! Encourage together!
