Without good thoracic spine mobility, the lumbar spine has to do thoracic spine work. The joints should not be flexible, resulting in lumbar compensation injuries

So good thoracic spine has good flexibility, which can greatly reduce the probability of low back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain.
