The four major theoretical ideas of Chen's Tai Chi

1. Combining boxing with the changes of Yin and Yang and Five Elements of Yixue

The human body is an organic whole that is constantly moving. Yi Xue believes that the movement of all things in nature is the unity of opposition between yin and yang. The movement of human life is itself a process of unity between the opposites of yin and yang, and it is a process of achieving unity in the continuous contradictory movement. Yi Xue believes that all things or phenomena belong to the range of yang; all things or phenomena belong to the cold, descending, dark, inhibiting, and static aspects belong to the category of yin. Tai Chi follows the principle of changes in yin and yang. In one move and one force, yin contains yang, yang contains yin, yin changes, and yin and yang change, and complement each other.

2. Combine boxing with the theories of guidance and breathing in traditional Chinese medicine, and apply qigong to boxing

The guidance in traditional Chinese medicine is a health preservation technique invented by ancient Chinese medical scientists. It mainly uses breathing, tilting, and flexing hands and feet to flex and stretch the body to make the blood and essence flow unimpeded in various parts of the human body, thereby promoting physical health.

The application of guidance in Tai Chi is to combine mind with form to normalize the heart physiology, thereby guiding blood and qi to flow smoothly throughout the body. Ancient Chinese medical scientists believed that the heart is the residence of the spirit, which is responsible for the operation of blood vessels, and has an important regulatory effect on all internal organs of the human body. It is the master of human life activities and the most important organ in the human body. The five internal organs mainly store essence and qi. The five internal organs mainly store essence and qi. The heart can store qi, the spleen can store energy, the liver can store blood, and the kidney can store essence; the five spiritual organs theory use the heart to store spirit, the lung can store soul, the spleen can store mind, the liver can store soul, and the kidney can store mind. The blood in the whole body depends on the heart's driving effect to be transported to all parts of the body. Therefore, when Chen Wangting created Tai Chi, he combined the 100 single eight-stance long-term boxing techniques taught by his ancestor Chen Bu with the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine, so that the body movement is in line with the conditions of relaxation around the body and can promote blood circulation. Practicing Tai Chi can make the heart qi strong, the heart blood is full, the meridians are clear, all functions of the heart control blood vessels are normal, and the blood runs normally in the blood vessels, which plays the role of practicing boxing and health care. Otherwise, the practitioner will lack qi and blood, causing the force to promote blood circulation and circulation to weaken, the meridians are blocked, and the disease is generated, which is not conducive to the practitioner's physical health.

The lungs control the breathing air, and the breathing function is one of the important physiological functions of the human body. The human body needs to continue to metabolize throughout its life. During the metabolism process, it is necessary to consume a large amount of fresh air (i.e., oxygen) and produce a large amount of turbid air (i.e., carbon dioxide). Inhaling oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide depends entirely on the breathing and breathing functions of the lungs.

Tai Chi combines the body movement of boxing with the momentum with the old and the new. First, it ensures that body movement cannot hinder the breathing movement of the human lungs, so as to ensure the normal functioning of lung functions and the metabolism will proceed naturally. Second, the formation of the inner primitive qi of the human body through the body movement of boxing. The so-called body movement of boxing, also known as the qi, is the acquired qi compared with the innate qi, and is the foundation of human life. The function of primitive qi is to promote the respiration of the lungs and the movement of the heart and blood in the vessels. Movement. The zongqi is mainly composed of the clear qi inhaled by the lungs and the subtle qi of water and grain produced by the spleen and stomach. It is gathered in the chest, called the Shang Qihai, which is the origin of the movement of the whole body. Third, through the body movement of boxing, the distribution of the zongqi in the human body. With the coordination of the heart and lungs, the zongqi in the Shang Qihai is sent into the various organs, tissues and organs of the body through blood, to reach the upper and lower parts of the body, the skin and internal organs, and to exert its nourishing and nutritious effect.

Tai Chi combines the body movement of boxing with theories such as guidance and breathing in traditional Chinese medicine, so that body movement is more beneficial to physical health and the exercise of martial arts functions.

3. Combining boxing with the meridian theory in traditional Chinese medicine

The meridian theory of ancient Chinese medicine mainly discusses the physiological functions and pathological changes of the human meridian system, as well as the relationship between meridians and internal organs. It is an important part of the ancient Chinese medical theory system.

Meridians are the pathways that run the qi and blood of the whole body, connect the lungs and limbs, communicate the inside, up and down, inside and outside, and regulate the functional activities of various parts of the body. They are the general term for meridians, collaterals and their connection tissues, and are the unique tissue structure and connection system of the human body. Among them, meridians are the vertical trunk lines of the human body's meridian system; collaterals have the meaning of network, and are the large and small branches of the human body's meridians, which are crisscrossing, and networking the whole body everywhere. The meridian system of the human body mainly includes several parts such as the twelve main meridians, the eight extraordinary meridians, the twelve meridians, the twelve meridians, the twelve meridians, the twelve skin parts, etc., which play a major role in determining life and death, dealing with all diseases, and regulating deficiency and excess, so they must be connected.

The meridian system connects the human body's internal organs, limbs, five senses, skin, flesh, tendons, veins and other tissues and organs into a unified organic whole through regular circulation and complex liaison.

Chen Wangting created Tai Chi to combine boxing with meridian theory, which mainly depends on the four major functions of the human meridian system.

First, combine boxing with meridian system. The human body is a whole composed of five internal organs, limbs and hundreds of bones, five senses and nine orifices, skin, flesh, muscles and bones. It maintains the coordination and unity of the body, mainly through the connection function of the meridian system. The twelve regular meridians and the twelve meridians intersect vertically and vertically, enter the inner and out of the surface, connect the upper and lower, and run between the internal organs and the official orifices; the eight extraordinary meridians and the eight veins connect the regular meridians; the twelve meridians and the twelve skin parts to connect the tendons, veins and flesh. Chen Wangting applied the connection function in the human meridian theory to Tai Chi, forming one of the Tai Chi martial arts theory, "One stillness is not quiet, and one movement is followed by all bones."

Second, combine boxing with the transportation effect of the meridian system. All tissues and organs of the human body need to be moistened and nourished by qi and blood to maintain normal physiological activities. The reason why qi and blood are unobstructed, reach the whole body, nourish the internal organs, resist external evils, and protect the body must rely on the transmission of the meridian system. Chen Wangting applied the transportation effect of the meridian system to Tai Chi, and run blood and qi through the meridians to nourish the yin and yang, to nourish the qi of the dantian hard and soft, and to overflow from the body, helping to perform martial arts; moisten the muscles and bones, to make one's body strong, the muscles and bones solid, and the internal qi sufficient, to withstand and resolve external attacks; to benefit joints, to make the practitioner's body move lightly and flexibly, to transform the movement of the other, and then take advantage of the momentum to attack and defeat the enemy.

Third, combine boxing with the induction and conduction of the meridian system. The so-called induction and conduction means that the meridian system has a transmission and conduction effect on the stimulation of the outside world, which is the tactile system of the human body. Chen Wangting applied the induction and conduction of the meridian system to Tai Chi to ensure the smooth completion of static and slow-acting control. As the "Boxing Theory" says: "If the other person does not move, he will not move; if the other person moves slightly, he will move first."

Fourth, combine boxing with the regulation of meridian system. The meridian system of the human body not only has a connection, transportation and induction and conduction function, but also maintains the balance and coordination of the functional activities of various parts of the human body. Chen Wangting applied the regulation of the meridian system to Tai Chi, and relies on the balance and coordination of meridians to flexibly adjust various parts of the body, change the reality and use the emptiness to lure the enemy, lead the reality to fall, avoid the reality and attack the emptiness, thus defeating the enemy.

The combination of boxing and meridian theory has made Tai Chi original silk-wrapped force that breeds the spiral movement method that adapts to the changes of meridians. It rotates and exerts force, increasing the power of punching force, which is difficult to guard against.

4. Combining the strengths of the hundred martial arts, unique

During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, there was a military general in China who was named Qi Jiguang (1528-1587), with the name Yuanjing, the nickname Nantang, and the later name Mengzhu, and was from Penglai, Shandong Province. Qi Jiguang practiced the new army and taught the "Thirty-Two Stances Fist Jing Jieyao" composed of the strengths of the hundred martial arts. The boxing technique is endless and mysterious.

When Chen Wangting created Tai Chi, he learned from the "Thirty-Two Stances Fist Jingjieyao" compiled by Qi Jiguang, and adopted twenty-nine postures, namely, lazy tying clothes, golden rooster independent, horse fist, seven-star fist, bird-dragon, hanging feet, slump and earth-dragon, slump and tiger-drunk, beast-headed momentum, striking the sky, rising sun hands, finger crotch, cross-tiger, cannon head, etc.
