Backstroke is the only swimming posture among the four swimming postures that does not require underwater ventilation. Because the face is exposed to the water surface, breathing is relatively natural. The backstroke posture determines that it has no ventilation skills. However, backstroke is the swimming posture that drinks the most water. The water brought out when the arm is waving is often all in the mouth, which makes it very uncomfortable. Some people lean their heads slightly forward at a certain angle to reduce drinking water, but the problem at the same time is that the speed is slowed down.

The body balance that pays most attention to is the direction of progress. Unlike the other three swimming postures, backstroke has no reference objects as the direction of progress, so the uniform force of both arms and their own feelings seem particularly important.

Breathing and movements are coordinated:

In general, breathing is inhaled when the right arm comes out of water, and inhaling when the arm moves to the vertical water surface. End, then hold your breath, exhale evenly after entering the water, and exhale when the hand is about to exhale when the water is discharged. The movements of arms and legs are generally paddled once each of the arms and feet 6 times.

Grasp the body's balance. Do not inhale with your nose. Grasp this point, you will not choke the water.

The backstroke face is facing up. Unlike freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, you need to face the water. Often after entering the water, you find that the water will choke, the water will flow into the nose, and the body will sink down because of lifting your neck. It is all because of not being properly breathed.

In order to avoid choking, you must first reach the state of high and flat position. The body and head are relatively high on the water surface, so the water will not easily rush into the nose.

The backstroke breathing methods are:

1. Exhale completely with your mouth.

2. Inhale with your mouth and exhale with your mouth and nose.

Respiration at the correct rhythm, cultivate your breathing arm:

As long as you exhale with your nose and mouth when you have the most water on your face, you won’t choke.

Every arm stroke cycle is when the big arm enters the water. When the nose and mouth are exhale out, and when the arms are moved in the air, you will inhale with your mouth, which will form a complete breathing rhythm.

Breathing arm, right breathing arm, every time the right arm enters the water, the nose and mouth exhale outward, and when the right arm moves out, the right arm moves inhale with your mouth.

Repeated training can decompose and swim with one arm, cultivate the breathing arm, and determine the correct breathing rhythm, so you won’t choke.
