Standing over-top shoulder push is an important part of our training process, but not everyone is suitable for shoulder push, or the conditions for performing movements
For various reasons: poor thoracic vertebrae, poor lumbar pelvic hip control (weak core), excessive kyphosis posture (hunchback), or excessive lumbar spine extension, pelvic forward tilt, these problems will affect the movement of shoulder push and affect the ability of the scapula to rotate upward.
Many people have lost their "no serious compensation" hands raised above their heads (shoulder push ) ability, if you insist on doing it, the risk of injury will greatly increase when performing the action of lifting your hands over your head
What should I do? It is not against the action of pushing over the head. It is a very good action for developing the muscle strength of the whole body, especially the upper body. But we need to first check the action ability to see if this action is suitable for you. If you do not have this ability yet, we can also choose the change action of pushing over the head to treat the shoulders friendly.
For example, T-bar (ground) Detonator) Standing posture, one-handed shoulder push:
The advantage of using a T-barbell for shoulder push is that it will not limit the normal shoulder-humeral rhythm! The movement includes the movement of the scapula rotating upward! It is good news for most people!
Standing posture, use one-handed! Correct the imbalance of both sides of muscle strength, and at the same time exercise the core anti-rotation force!
Catch the barbell with your hand, bend your elbows, and hold the barbell in front of your chest. Maintain the stability of the torso and lean forward slightly.
Next, the core is stable and the hand is straightened to push the barbell forward so that the arm can be close to the ears, but it is not pushing the barbell into the middle. Remember not to lock the elbow when straightening it; then slowly lower it and retract the barbell back to the chest.
Remember: Each movement must ensure the range of movement and work within the entire range!
